Single-sided tooth plate connectors (type C2) are used in metal-wood or wood-wood connections (coniferous wood) to absorb shear forces in combination with bolts or wood screws, whereby the bolts or screws subject to load also absorb the clamping and tensile forces acting in the bolt axis
  • In accordance with DIN EN 912:2011-09

  • Two nail holes dia. 3.5 mm

  • Material: St 1203 or DC 01 + C390 steel in accordance with DIN EN 10139

  • Surface: Sendzimir zinc plated

  • Application in utilisation class 1 and 2
Notice

Shear compressive load in the compressed surfaces should not be higher than 2.5 N/mm2 for solid wood or 3 N/mm2 for laminated wood.

CE marking in line with EN 912 pending.

Application area

Used to manufacture double-shear, shear-loaded metal–wood and wood–wood connections made from softwood, e.g. half-lap joints, frame corners and collar beams.

Instructions

Single-sided tooth plate connectors, type C2, are attached using dowel pins and nuts. Alternatively, ASSY wood screws can be employed. Suitable fasteners: Bolts with washers and ASSY 3.0 Combination screw.

Assembly

1. Bore a hole for the bolt and nut in the timber component. The bore diameter for bolts in wood may only be max. 1 mm larger than the nominal diameter of the bolt. The bolt must rest against the metal tab and against the tooth plate connector.

2. Position the single-sided tooth plate connector in the timber component. The tooth plate connectors can be fixed in place using the nail holes. It is not permitted to drive in the connector by hitting the teeth directly.

3. Drive in the tooth plate connector by tightening the bolt torque or using a hydraulic driving tool. Alternatively, special driving tools can be used.

4. Tighten the bolts if the wood cross-section tapers.
