Double-sided tooth plate connector
Double-sided tooth plate connectors (type C1) are used for wood/wood joints (soft wood) in combination with bolts or wood screws to absorb shear forces. The bolts or screws that are exposed to loads absorb the clamping and pulling force in the bolt axis.

Type C1 double-sided tooth plate connectors are fastened with dowel pins and nuts. ASSY wood screws can be used as an alternative. Type C1 tooth plate connectors can be used for cross-cut wood joints. Suitable hardware is bolts and washers, for example the ASSY 3.0 Combi screw with washer and the ASSY 3.0 SK.
Installation
1. Drill a hole for the bolt and nut in both wooden parts to be joined. The drill hole diameter for wood bolts must not exceed the nominal diameter of the bolt by more than 1 mm.
2. Install the double-sided tooth plate connector. When using a double-sided tooth plate connector, the dowel must not touch the bolt. Secure the tooth plate connector with nails (d = 3 mm) by hammering the nails in the nail holes. Do not drive the tooth plate connector into the wood by hammering directly on the teeth.
3. Drive the tooth plate connector into the wood by tightening the bolt or pushing it into the wood using a hydraulic press tool. Special setting tools can also be used.
4. Tighten the bolts if the cross section of the wood becomes narrower.
