The surface must be clean, dry and free from grease. Clean the area around the defect with a clean cloth and part cleaner to remove dirt and oil. Select a patch and remove the protective film. Apply the patch to the surface ensuring that there are no folds, then press on firmly, if necessary striking against a solid surface with a rubber hammer
